uitvoerig de effectiviteit van deze niet-farmacologische methode aan bij pijnmanagement. Het pijnstillend effect werkt zowel bij acute als chronisch pijn. Bovendien kunnen de resultaten van de therapie in een daling van de benodigde pijnmedicatie resulteren.

 

Momenteel wordt nog verder onderzocht wat de vergaande effecten zijn van de therapie op ziekenhuis-resources, meer bepaald op medicatieverbruik en de verblijfsduur, aangezien wordt verondersteld dat “Virtual Reality” therapie tot een daling in medicatie(kosten) en verkorte opnameduur kan leiden.
